About AP's Morning Brief
Editor: AP Dult · Last updated: October 26, 2026
AP's Morning Brief is a free pre-market newsletter. Each weekday morning it recaps the previous U.S. and Canadian trading session and lists what's scheduled for the day ahead: earnings, economic data and central-bank decisions. It covers equities, rates, energy, commodities and crypto, and is meant to be read in about five minutes.
Who runs it
The brief is edited by AP Dult, who decides what goes into each edition and is responsible for what is published under the AP's Morning Brief name.
How we work
- Every figure has a source. Index levels, yields, prices and economic data in the brief link to the page they came from, such as exchange data, FRED, the Federal Reserve, the Bank of Canada, Statistics Canada, company releases or established news outlets.
- No invented numbers or quotes. If we can't source a figure, we leave it out or mark it "n/a".
- Dated and labelled. Each edition carries its date and the session it covers. Past editions are not updated after they're sent.
- No price targets or forecasts. We report what happened and what's scheduled. We don't tell readers what to buy or sell.
- Corrections. If we get something wrong, email [email protected] and we'll correct it in the next edition.
- Tools. We use software tools, including AI-assisted drafting and data tools, to help gather and format information. The editor reviews what is published, and the sourcing rules above apply either way.
Live market panels
The homepage shows free third-party widgets from TradingView: quotes, hotlists, an economic calendar and a headline feed. We don't write or check those headlines, and quotes may be delayed. See what the market panels show.
Advertising and sponsorship
The site and newsletter carry no advertising today. If we add ads or sponsorships in the future, they will be clearly labelled as advertising and kept separate from editorial content, and our Privacy Policy will be updated first. Advertisers will not choose or review what we write.
